After her time in the park, she just wanted to be able to go back to her room. The people in charge of her, however, had other ideas. When she arrived at her place, she discovered that there were a bunch of nulls waiting for her. Andrea had blanked out at this point but had woken up just now with her arms in a straight jacket and being practically carried by two guards. She felt really bruised but she was certain she was alright now. She never really dealt with anything not alright from the wardens. She didn't know if it was because she usually blacked out or if it was simply because the people she dealt with were nice people. Oh well... Everything was hopefully fine right now and nothing bad happened when she blacked out. Eric was with them and if something bad had happened, he wouldn't be around or he would've freaked out.
She looked up at the null guards. "Umm... where are we going?" she asked quietly. Not receiving an answer, she tried speaking louder but they still didn't give her an answer. She gave a frustrated sigh and just resigned herself to the fact she was just going where she was going. She looked around, noting they weren't in neutral ground anymore but more in the north district. She looked around curiously at it, having never felt very proper or right to visit it because the only thing she really had was the wings and that weird problem with having clothing turn black which the winged people in the district certainly didn't suffer from likely. When she saw the center they were going to though she paled. "Why am I being brought to the fighting center?"
She started panicking, struggling in the grip of the people carrying her. Again, there was a switch between personalities or a black out for Andrea. Like before, Lyess came down, not able to be suppressed when in a position both Nyx and Andrea didn't like. "Lyessy doesn't like this, she wants down now..." She said very child-like, her voice pitched high and words very strange. "I don't like this. Let me down or Lyessy will bite you." When Lyess switched to first person, people generally should listen. The nulls didn't listen and therefore had it coming when Lyess bit them hard, one on the arm and then the other jerking herself away from them. Being in a straight jacket though was not to her advantage. She was able to run a short distance before the fact her hands that were behind her back were a convenient thing to grab was used against her.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Lyess positively screamed as she was dragged into the center. She was then plopped down in a corner with one of the people who brought her there looking over her while the other grabbed someone. She was in a place with padded floors. not bored anymore and not being dragged anymore, she simply looked at the area. Lyessy couldn't understand why Andrea didn't want to go into this area. It was nice and kinda soft... "Whee!!!" She said as she let herself fall over but then realized afterwards that she couldn't get up again. She could try to use Andrea's wings but Andrea's wings were broken and couldn't do anything... So after a bit of struggle trying to leverage herself, she fell asleep on the padded flooring, for all the world looking innocent. She didn't look like someone who earned the bruises developing on her body nor who had put up a great fight.

Despites Sam's misgivings about leaving Vira alone, he did it anyway. She had wanted to go play or sort things out in her head (he didn't think that was possible but he wasn't about to tell her that) so he had agreed to instead of having breakfast with her like he usually did every morning since they had been friends, he went right to work.
Not that he minded going to work. He was here almost every day, and when he was here, it was one of the only times that he didn't have to worry about what he was going to do with Vira. Because usually she was here and it was just to learn more moves. One time where he could just focus on the thrill of combat.
He walked into his office out of the cold air of the day and shook the snow out of his hair, it had been a cold winter for the most part but Sam didn't mind. In all his years, which had been quite a few Sam had dealt with a lot of winters and none of them ever seemed to faze him any more.
He pulled more snow out of his brown curls and shut the door behind him as he walked into his office and sat in the leather chair behind the mahogany desk he had there. There weren't pictures of family that littered the walls like most people's offices. Sam hated his family. All he had was Vira, and he was happy with that. Though, Vira hated pictures. The flash hurt her eyes, the only thing on Sam's wall was a clock. It ticked and tocked and it was the only thing that broke the silence of the room.
He sat down at the chair and put it his coat on the back of it basking in the warmth of his office as he opened his boo of schedules. He had a couple of appointments today, most of them were people he had already seen but his first one was with someone he had not yet trained. There was no name and nothing listed about the person whether they were a patient or a warden or anything Great. he thought as he sighed as he made a note next to it to find out a lot about this person for him to know because as of right now he knew nothing.
He sighed and shook his head standing and going over to the punching bag he had in the corner for his own personal use. He looked at it and tied his tape around his hands as he thought about what he was going to teach that day. He pulled on his black tee and stepped back and began rapidly hitting the bag, until it slammed right into the wall. Then he got it when it came back and put his head against it.
That was when he heard something, or someone coming into to his Arena. He figured it was his first appointment, but what he heard was a struggle and then what sounded like some one screaming to themselves. What the hell? He left the bag where it was and walked out of his office, closing the door behind him.
"Hello?"he called out into the area where he did his teaching. He didn't hear anything but he kept it moving, walking across the padded floor, his sneakers making no sound as he did, there he saw someone sleep on the floor. Was this who he was supposed to be training? His blue gray eyes stared at the woman with confusion.
He walked over too her and kneeled down next to her "Are you alright?"he said a bit loudly and then he shook her lightly. If it was who he was supposed to be teaching then she would be of no use to him or his hourly rate if she was passed right out on his floor now would she?

Although Lyess had fallen asleep, it didn't mean that the other personalities couldn't have taken over the body in the process. Although the seventeen year old laying on the ground seemed quite benign and asleep, she wasn't. It wasn't in the nature of the multiple personality girl to. Or at least, it wasn't for the particular personality known as Nyx. Now... Unlike most of the personalities, with the exception of Lyess, Nyx was aware of a lot of what went on when the others were out as long as she could handle it. So she was aware that she was in the fighting area and probably for another test of her capabilities. She sighed, listening to the sound of a punching bag being hit as she did her best to try to wiggle her way out of the straight jacket she was in. Like usual, the damn guards had taken away her switchblade...
It made things a lot more complicated for the rather cold personality. She was moving a lot more than someone could expect her to but when she heard the hello she froze. She hoped that it was not the guard that she would be unable to fight. She was fairly certain the voice sounded male and that she didn't know who he was. It was a testament to how fast he was that he managed to get close enough quickly enough to touch her. Nyx resisted the strong temptation to freak out, specially since she had an exit at the very least although she couldn't fight her way away from him. She opened her eyes and in an extremely fast movement got up against the wall as far from him as she could get from being stuck on the ground in a straight jacket.
"Don't touch me." She stated firmly, the slightest bit of something that could almost be labelled anger or disgust coming from her. "I'm as fine as I can be with the nulls tasked by the scientists freaking all of us out unnecessarily for likely what is another test." Nyx stated that calmly, shortly and in a way that seemed hostile despite the fact she spoke it rather monotone. She had used the wall to get herself up to standing and now looked at him warily. Her eyes were cold and there was no unnecessary movement to what she did. She did not fidget at all, although it would be understandable if she did to get out of the straight jacket, but perhaps not since she was considering convincing the man in front of her to perhaps give her something to let her out of the straight jacket.
"I assume you are the fight instructor?" Nyx asked, a hint of curiosity in the raised voice aspect of the question. "May I have a knife of some sort to free myself from the straight jacket the nulls seem so fond of using on us? If you do then perhaps I'll cooperate. Certainly a test on fighting is something I could enjoy."

This type of thing did not happen often to Sam. He didn't normally have people just thrown on the floor when they were supposed to be here for an appointment, If that was what this woman was here for, he certainly hoped so. If she had no where to go well then, Sam didn't know what he would do with her. He wasn't bringing her home to Vira.
He shook his head as he looked at her laying there and then went back to the door to see people leaving but they were way too far off for Sam to be able to call out to them so they could hear him and possibly tell him what the fuck was going on.
He sighed and came back to where the girl was laying and studied her a bit. He couldn't tell what she was. If she was a Death, but that didn't seem likely because she was wearing a straight jacket. A white one. If she had been a Death Angel, The straight jacket would have immediately turned black. He sighed and shook his head.
She seemed be waking a bit and Sam was interested in finding out finally what the hell was going on. She woke up and the first thing she said was Don't touch me. Sam didn't want to alarm her or anything so he took his hands off.
"I mean you no harm"he said in a small voice. He wasn't trying to be intimidating. He was trying to get her to see that he was not here to harm. Sam was only here to teach.
She was speaking about how the Nulls had dragged her here for taking her out for a test. A test? What the hell? Sam didn't administer tests. All Sam did was Train people and he did it happily so. If she was here to be trained then so be it, if not she was wasting his time.
She was backed up against the wall now because she had managed to scooch herself all the way over there. He was slightly impressed with that, but if she was going to be trained then she was going to have to get out of the Straight jacket.
She spoke again, asking if he was the fight instructor and then asking for a knife so that she could cut herself out of the straight jacket. He shook his head smiling. Well, she seemed to be here to fight and that was basically all he cared about.
He left the room without a word and then went into his office going over his desk and pulling out a pocket knife he had in one of the drawers for like letter opening. He didn't really use knives in combat. He had his Scythe of course. He came back out and took it out and came back in the room and set the knife down in front of her on the floor.
"I am Sam and Yes, I am the instructor here, and I don't care about how you got here but if you can get yourself out of that Straight jacket with that knife...Then I will be very impressed and I can decide where you need begin"he said with a smirk. He sat on the mat cross legged a few feet away and waited.
He wanted to be impressed, it would be surely something to help with such a dull day. Sam may have had to deal with Vira all the time, but this, this was his work. He thrived on this.

Nyx gave a bit of a sardonic smile at Sam's comment. "Liar, most males do..." she told him. "But I appreciate you making the attempt to say you wouldn't harm me." If there was one thing Nyx liked keeping it was formality and politeness. It was polite for people to pretend they weren't violent or dangerous. The fact that he did and had the actions follow it put him a bit more in her good books. Not much, males didn't get very far in her good books but he was a bit better than most males she met. Which was why she continued with saying the information out loud to inform him of why she happened to be here in the first place. She usually kept her thoughts on matters such as these a bit more private. It wouldn't do for a shadow or the night to be loud would it?
When he shook his head smiling, she assumed it meant he wasn't the fight instructor. But then he came in with a knife and brought it to her and she realized it was just simply that he was amused by her. She wasn't entirely certain about how she felt about that but she would prove herself to be strong to the fight instructor. The sooner she aced this test, the sooner they could go home and Andrea could listen to music.
When Sam addressed her, she listened to his words carefully. After he was done, she decided some information sharing was in order. "I am called Nyx." She told him straightly. "And getting out of a straight jacket with a knife is rather easy. So much so that the nulls keep on stealing my knives." She moved over to where the knife was, fully aware that Sam was watching, and positioned herself so that way the knife was where her fingers were. She then grabbed onto the handle and with a bit of effort twisted her hands so it cut the fabric of the slightly dirty looking straight jacket that had been getting periodically darker as she wore it. Once she got her hands separated from each other, she then simply had to cut the straight jacket but decided to do something a bit more flashy.
She concentrated on bringing out Andrea's wings and for a moment couldn't breath as wings stretched jacket remains but eventually the wings broke through the fabric as they should and were out in all their black with purple tinted feathers. She rustled them a bit before bringing the wings back under her skin. She had the slightest bit of amusement in her eyes. "Sorry... Would've brought out my scythe but my scythe summoning is hap hazard at best." Nyx admitted "So... did I amuse you enough for lessons?"

Sam didn't know what to think of this girl. She seemed to be a little off. Jaded somehow, especially with the way she reacted to him. Within seconds of him being anywhere near her she had yelled at him to not touch her and had backed away as far as possible from him.
She furthered his assumptions when she called him a liar and saying that most males do mean harm. He didn't say anything or make an facial expression at that. She was right, but then again there were a lot of people in general that meant everyone harm. It wasn't just males, that was just a rationalization though. He knew that most of the scum of the world had been men. He knew at least two and one of them had been his own father...
He shook off the thought without moving and just answered her statement "Well I don't care about Most guys...I do not mean you any harm" she had thanked him for trying to be nice and he shrugged it off. It wasn't him trying to be nice, he was being honest. Despite of how Sam thought of himself on days when no one was looking, he knew that he was a decent guy. One that would never cause harm to someone unwarranted at least.
Once they actually started the combat though, that would be a different story.
She told him that her name was Nyx and he nodded just studying her a bit as he still was trying to figure out what she was. Then she said that getting out the straight jacket would be easy and that the Nulls took her knives that was how easy it was he just smirked from where he was sitting on the mat.
He didn't care how Important and how impressive she thought that she was. She needed to impress him and most of the time that was very hard thing to do.
He watched her go over to where the knife was and ran his hand through his hair as he waited for her to finish with the task of getting out of the straight jacket. He was slightly impressed but not much. She cut through the jacket and then wings burst through the rest of it.
He raised an eyebrow as he saw the black wings with the purple tipped feathers. It reminded him of Vira. He stood now crossing his arms as she started talking again.
She said she would have brought out her Scythe and he nodded. She was a Death Angel then, he would ask questions about it later. Right now it was time for lessons. He grinned a bit and paced a bit on the mat, crossing his arms.
"I must say...I am slightly impressed. But Impressing me is something hard to do, It's time to start the battle"he said with a bit of a grin, then he walked slowly over to the edge of the mat and then charged her, she would be expecting a full on attack but he didn't he instead dropped to the ground in front of her kicking out her leg and then rolling away back in to a standing position.
"Time to learn how to stop moves like that"he said with a grin, that had been a classic move. Like some sort of fake out. Would she charge him or wait for an order? He was interested to find out.

Nyx shrugged in the straight jacket to his response. "I'm afraid I can't believe you as of right now." she told him rather straightforward "I don't trust males in general, nothing against you I just can't trust them." She gave a bit of a shudder at the thought of her memory. No... She shouldn't remember it here. It was a bad point to remember it. she shook her head to wave that thought out of her mind, showing a bit of sadness, fury and emotion before it seemed to be wiped away. she then went into just explaining simple facts, she wasn't bragging, she was just telling things how they were. Nyx saw no need to brag about her skills, that would just get her killed because then she would lose the sense of surprise with her skills. But it was better for her weapons instructor to know her skill.
Which was why she let him see her rip the straight jacket. Once she pulled the straight jacket off, she said her piece and then waited. "Then I am pleased to have even so slightly amused you." she commented wryly. At being told to start the battle it was like a switch was flipped. What little emotion she showed went off and she went unearthly still. she watched his movements the same way she had at the very beginning of their acquaintance when she had just woken up. Once he was at the edge of the mat, she was fully prepared for him to attack. He charged at her and if he didn't go into the duck early she would not have spotted it and jumped back. He still managed to hit her leg, just more near her foot and causing her to trip a bit clumsily.
To Nyx's credit, she kept her knife up so she could defend herself from a defensive position while hitting the floor with her other arm to get rid of some of the energy. Her wings too allowed her to briefly float before she fell to the floor, minimizing damage. She got up and looked at him. "Very well... Would you like me to attack or would you rather attack again?" Nyx commented a bit grumpily for her although the grump was only a hint in her voice and how she worded things. "And don't act so smug even if you are the instructor."

Sam was still pretty unsure what he thought of this girl, slightly impressed with her he had been but as for anything else he didn't know what to think of her. He didn't know her, so his judgment was being reserved until he did know her. At least if he did get to know her, how she performed today would predict if she was going to come back here or not. Sam didn't normally work with lost causes.
If there was one thing that he did know though was that she seemed to have some hatred for men. Sam mentally sighed about this, He hated being lumped in with everyone else but he did not blame her for her thought processes. She didn't even have to tell him that she didn't trust males, no he could just tell by her obvious disdain for him in general. It had nothing do with the person that she was or anything like that.
"I understand"that was all he said on the subject. He didn't know what else to say. He couldn't sway her with his words that he meant her no harm obviously so there was no reason for him to even try now was there? No no there wasn't. He would have to prove to her a different way that he meant no harm to her. All Sam wanted to do was teach combat and since she was here for that it would be wise for her to actually trust him, he couldn't make her though and that was the end of that.
She said that she was pleased to have amused him and Sam rolled his eyes a bit. It wasn't about amusing him. It was about showing him what she could do. Showing him why she deserved to have him train her. Sam wasn't normally cocky but he knew his training was good and there was no way he was going to let someone who wasn't up to par work out in his arena. Cocky it may sound but Sam didn't really give a rats ass.
He grinned at that thought, this was where the fun had began. He had done a very classic move and he watched her as she did all of her movements. They were basic and she had anticipated that he would kick out and Sam noted that as something in her favor. If she knew that that had meant that she was aware. Awareness was a very important part of fighting and people needed to be aware as much as possible.
He watched her as she went with the blow and fell down still having the knife he gave her on the offensive. That was another point in her favor. He would add up all of points and at the end of her session he would see where she fell. Most likely she was going to need personal training with just him if she had to be dropped off in a damn straight jacket.
She stood up now, asking if he wanted her to attack or if he was going to attack again. If he was going to attack again he most certainly was not going to tell her that he was going to do as such. Seeing her attack would be interesting though, before he could respond to what she was saying she commented again telling him to not be so smug even if he was the instructor.
He raised an eyebrow at her, Was she kidding? He was the instructor, he could be as smug as he wanted to be.
"I am not the one being trained here, I can be smug if I wanna thanks"he said with a big grin and a nod of his had as if he was tipping his hat to her. Then he stood with his feet shoulder width apart and looked at her with a challenging smile on his face. Let's see what she could do. "Now then...Come at me"he said in a soft voice. He was more then ready for her attack, was she?

For one of the first few times in her interactions with Sam, she deliberately showed a sense of emotion. She grinned at his raised eyebrow before smoothing out her smile. Nyx didn't smile, she wasn't allowed to smile or show emotion. She was suppose to protect the others and be the personality most informed of things. If she was easily influenced emotionally then it could harm them. Besides, he was a male, showing emotion and weakness to him was dangerous. She didn't want to do that. Although she didn't particularly like Lyess and the other personalities, they were a part of her just as much as she was a part of them. If they ended up dying or injured then it really would affect her.... Them... Emotional problems again, she didn't want to display them but emotions were so hard to get rid of.
Hence why she still had that emotional reaction to touch. But she could.... Appreciate men in a friend way if they were able to handle her and her emotionlessness. At least, she probably could, she had done it in the past, years ago. Although trying now would probably be difficult, obviously things have changed a bit and she was just a little bit rusty at befriending people now. At the comment of him being able to be smug if he wanted, she raised her own eyebrow in response. "I'm being trained as a test as I told you." She said then added a bit reluctantly. "I'm not fully death angel, the scientists here are being fascinated by an actual nurture subject." Nyx rolled her eyes, she didn't really want to be here but she wasn't minding Sam, she just simply didn't like that she had to be taken here like this.
She had decided to not comment on the smugness. She could argue he needed to be a good influence on her but she felt it would be a wasted breath. She steadied her breathing, getting into combat mode purposely, that distant sort of feeling when you fight. He had asked her to attack him so she was simply thinking of how she would do it. She looked him over as she mused the area she would hit him with and wondered if she should try to bring out her scythe. Then she shook off that idea, besides, she was better at having it randomly turn up in battle rather than anything else so her hand tightened around the handle of the knife. If she hit low it would be too obvious but hitting high would be equally too obvious....
So she decided on a three move slashing combo. She ran at him, going at an angle and attacked his torso, then she sunk to jab his leg before turning into a cut that would hit key parts of him and move up the body. She was not a nice person when it came to her hits but she did plan on him being able to dodge them. She was a bit more better at response then attack but she preferred pairing multiple moves together and keeping her opponent off balance.
Word count: 541 Muse: Decent Music: Otep - Communion Notes: Yes... Nyx doesn't care if she inadvertently castrates him. She is kind of testing him herself. lol.

Sam was beginning to get a little bored, that was never a good sign when it came to training people. When you couldn't hold Sam's attention it made him not want to train you, it didn't mean that he wasn't going to though. Sam wasn't a stuck up snob that way, it just meant that it would be less fun for him.
Sam didn't like that, No he didn't like that one bit. If it was Sam's choice all of his fighting and combat training would be as fun as possible, what was the sense of learning how to fight if you didn't have fun and enjoy yourself while doing it? Sure fighting wasn't necessarily created for the fun of others but for the defense and offense. He didn't really care though, Sam taught the way he thought he should and he could do that if he wanted since after all this was his Arena.
She spoke saying she wasn't fully death angel and that she was here to be tested and he just looked at her, these boring details made no difference to him. He knew that they often dropped people off here to see what they could do and Sam had to fill out a report and it was this whole big boring process that he did not want to have to deal with.
He shrugged it off. Couldn't they get this show on the road?Couldn't they get down to the Nitty gritty part of this? He wanted to fight, for some reason he was really in the mood for a fight and a good one and he could not tell you why he wanted one so much.
He had done a move at her and she had told him not be smug and he commented back. He was allowed to be smug, he owned this place and he was the one who would be testing her so why should he not be smug? He also was the one who had the skills here. He had no doubt that she had some of the skills in this fight but he had most of them. Plus he had a home court advantage.
He stretched a bit as he waited for her to come at him, the room was starting to get warm from what he just did. He saw her coming and waited for the blow, she hit one spot two spot and a third and dodged each and ever single one. He back flipped away.
Three shot combination. Not too shabby, but nothing impressive.
"When doing a combination its not a good idea to do three combos around the same parts of the body. When doing this you make it easier for people to anticipate your next move and knock you right on your ass"he said with a grin.
He then walked toward the punching bag and motioned for her to come over to it. "Come, I want you to take a poke at this"he grinned at her.
He was going to be happy and not bored if it killed him. He needed to have this evaluation go smoothly.
