SPECIES ABILITIES

Seth is exceedingly fast. As in, he can move faster than you will have time to blink, that is his strength. He doesnt mesmer unless he has to, he is not overly physically strong though he is strong. He is fast. Damn fast. Blink and you'll miss him. Seth himself also is very much so a gentleman when it comes to blood. He never takes out of no where and rarely does take from a living human source if he can help it. His monster doesnt have the same hangups but I'll get to that.

Everything aside, hoever, Seth is old. Which makes him damn strong even if he denies it. He has more abilities than he lets on...

Seth considers himself qualified considered he's been looking out for a spaztic witch since she was about 13, he also looks out for anyone weaker than him and has his whole life, so he figures he's qualified enough.

Or would you rather know why he is qualified to lead a coven? Lets see...he was Marc's second in command for a hundred and fifty years of one coven, and lead another with an ethos similar to fortuna for twenty more. Plus he's damn old and powerful when he bothers to make use of his abilities. I dare you to challenge him.

HISTORY:

Seth Horus was born to a poor family in a rural English town and he hated it. His family was never one for splurging, they never had the money to. Each child in the family was expected to wake up early and work on the farm that had been in their family for generations. He was the middle child of the family and therefore would not inherit anything and had to make his own way. His parents expected him to work on their farm until the end of his days but what then? He would only then be stuck without a property to himself and now real work to call his own. His older brother got the farm, his younger brother was shipped off to be a priest. He longed to go to a University and become a learned man and possible better himself. He worked at a stable near by on top of working at home at the farm to save up and his parents are proud until they realize his ambition. They called it foolish and he lived the house to live and work at the stable until he eventually earned enough to move to the city.

He never sees his family or his brothers again, or his baby sister. In truth? He did miss them, but he wanted more out of his life. He wrote back to them on several occasions, and in none of them did they actually write back. In fact, all his letters get sent back to him. He considers these very old by now letters to be some of his only treasures and keeps them with him still today.

He makes it to London and while he waits to be accepted to the University, Cambridge in fact. Seth didn't really think this through though. He only had enough money to make it to the big city he ended up in. No chance in paying for school, let alone enough to feed himself or find a place to live. An old shop keep found him stealing from his store, and instead of sending him to jail as a pickpocket the old man took him in. He lived with this man and worked at his shop, which happened to be a book shop, and ate up everything he read there. The old man taught him as well, though he wasn't enough, Seth always wanted more. He learns a lot from the old man who treats him like a son. And he feels more at home with this old man than he ever did with his own father. He was all set to go to the University, finally being able to go, when disaster strikes.

One night, a band of rogue vampires attack the shop and drain the old man while Seth struggles with another, enraged he attacks. Why? Because it was all he could think of doing, he was angry after all, what else was he supposed to do? The band, the family really, finds themselves impressed with Seth’s spunk and take them with him. They keep him locked up without food for three days…and after that begin a ritual that would haunt him for a long time. They all attacked him, and kept going at it. He had a weapon but how is a human supposed to compare to a group of vampires? He loses so much blood…he almost passes out. But, as a testament to honor how long he lasted, it is the leader of this merry band himself that gets Seth to drink his blood, siring and changing Seth into one of them. He will regret not dying for a long time…after he gets his sanity back that is.

After a time he grows to accept that he is a monster, as he believes it, and becomes like a brother with Marc, the leader of the band. Being that Marc is indeed his sire, the other vampire takes Seth under his wing and teaches him what he knows. He often says that even if Seth hadn’t been his “child” as it were, he would have done this for Seth, because he admires the younger man’s spark. The thing is, as honorable as this sounds, Marc’s ways of being are anything but honorable. Marc teaches him to kill humans and use the dark side of his powers. He knows nothing else. Seth truly does become a monster for a long time.

The turning point in Seth's life is when the band attacks a house and tries to turn or kill a young girl. He doesn’t understand why on earth they would do something like that, it was simply a young girl. Even the reasoning that it is a witch who had betrayed them makes no sense. He becomes enraged, remembering the old man and defends her, giving her time to run. It is because of him, that the O’Deina witches live on a little bit longer, even though Serenity is currently the last in their line but that’s a story for a different app, this is supposed to focus on Seth. Feeling betrayed but still seeing Seth as a brother, Marc tells him to run. He gives the other vampire a total of a day to escape and Seth uses this time to go over seas. It has been fifty years that he has spent with this band, enough to twist him but he wants to change. He settles down in Fell's Church 100 years later, opening a bookshop and attempting to help others to learn. A member of Bestia Crour, a vamp coven there that is dedicated to being good and using their abilities right teaches him how he can live and be good, surviving without taking blood forcefully and he joins them, becoming a benevolent creature who seeks to defend. He has his moments when he looses control but he for the most part is in control. He changes, becomes sweeter and almost too chivalrous as if he is trying to make up for his horrid past.

Which is why he goes back to England. He goes looking for Marc in hopes that he can change him back, he truly wishes to after all. Marc was really like his brother, and as his sire Marc has ties to Seth that Seth will never be able to break, he longs to fix that. And he found Marc all right. The same line of witches that Seth had originally helped save, the O’Deina’s are still being controlled by the vampire coven Seth was once part of…and he comes in in time to see one of them dead and them about to change the young girl. He wasn’t in time to stop the scarring, both mentally and physically, of the fourteen year old witch, but like with her ancestor, he was able to get her out and confronted the coven.

He knew he couldn’t change Marc’s mind…so instead he decided to fix a different wrong.

He found the young witch sobbing and a mess, and gave her a honeycomb for the loss of blood and tried to wrap her bandages, only she freaked when he touched her. He knew he couldn’t stay with her then, not with the way she looked at him for being a vampire. But he sent her to America where the coven couldn’t touch her, doing more for her than he did for her predecessor. He kept track of her best he could when he himself went back over seas, but often she would ignore him so he settled into his life in Fell’s Church once more.

Until one day she ended up there as well. He gave her a place to stay, considering there was another apartment above the shop he owned, and a place to work because she loved books as much as he did. It seemed perfect and it was. Until he met Anya. Anya turned his world entirely flip flopped. She brought out the hunger in him and drove him crazy, unleashing the monster he had tried so hard to keep hidden, and still tries so hard to keep caged, but it isn’t either with the sexy little creature that sets his world on fire acting the way she does. He calls her a minx. It’s not an understatement. But before he can deal too much with the flip flop…Serenity goes missing. And that isn’t like her, as much as he knows she’s a nomad.
So he says his goodbyes to Anya as much as he doesn’t want to, and finds an old friend. Iris, Serenity’s best friend, had always been much like a little sister to him. It didn’t help that she refused to do anything that had anything to do with her being a vampire, this strengthened his need to look out for her, its just the way he is. She’d changed though since he had last seen her…and together they search.

And they find her at B.S. Seth takes up a job as a Foster so that he can keep a better eye on her, what better way after all? And it doesn’t hurt that Anya has reappeared as well. Wonder how long the poor boy can keep his sanity? Being that Seth is fucking old for a vampire, and has had experience leading a coven or two, it isn’t hard to see why he does what he does next. He takes over a coven of vampires. His ethos for the family is simple, and follows one that he used to follow…be good. Harm none unless you have to. And they only truly have a war going on with vampires that are more like monsters…which is more common than not in this town. With Iris as his second in command though, he intends to have his family be the top…

PERSONALITY:

Seth has two sides: The sarcastic flirt, and the fearless defender

He is often sarcastic, using it as a defense against stupidity and...everything else. He is not interested in settling down with a girlfriend or wife but he loves to flirt. He often does just to make a girl fluster or get nervous, answering it with his usual smirk. He makes use of his boyish/drop dead gorgeous looks, using them to often get him out of trouble when he steps out of line. Its just the way he is, he hates when people get clingy and will put himself as far away from that situation as he can.

On the other side of the coin, he is a defender. He cannot stand to see other people being hurt or picked on and it is then his temper shows itself. He will stop at nothing to defend someone he sees as weaker then him, whether it is wanted or not. He is very protective and strong in that sense.

Oops, did I say only two sides? My bad.

There's still Seth's "Monster" to discuss. Don't ask me, hes the one who refers to it that way. Not me. His monster is the person who was back when he ran with the gang. It craves two things, sex and blood and will do whatever he wants to get it. He doesnt care about what other people think about that. He thinks of himself seperately, calling Seth his goody-goody half. Kinda like Dr. Jekyl, Mr. Hyde. He doesn't have a name though, so it's not SPD, not just yet. He's slowly getting there though...

Seth is also a scholar, loving to learn and uses his immortality to learn all that he can.

How Did You Find Us: Are you really asking me this? Okay, well lets see. It all started one day when the psycho idea after reading the latest Morganville Vampires popped into my head. I went over to my best friends house, you know her as Sephy, and shared this idea with her and she tuned down my overly psychotic ideas into something real and together we created this place, 50/50 all the way. Because we're epic like that. So how did I find this palce? it came from my subconscious and was made real by me and my best friend. Hells yes.
