HISTORY:

Aislinn Luna never intended to get married or fall in love and have kids. Hell, she never intended to have sex. Too bad Xander had other plans. He persued Aislinn until she eventually gave in to the persistant man. But she never really gave in. She always pushed him away just for the sake of showing him that he didn’t win. But either way, they did end up staying together, because he eventually pushed enough to make Ash realized how much she lived him. And the twins were born.

Xavier and Ariana, his twin sister, who was a total nut, were born on the road. Xander and Aislinn were travelers, they never got married because Ash couldn’t handle settling down like that. So they simply traveled and for all intents and purposes they were married. So Ria and Zay never had a normal childhood. They never had school, they were home schooled. Zay and Ria lived in their own fantasy world, always dreaming and creating bigger and brighter stories. It was the only time that the pair of them got along. Well, Zay was the quiet cynical one while Ria was always laughing. What did you expect? But when they were dreaming, they were inseperable. They just didn’t get along in the waking world.

The two were dream walkers after all, like their mother. And they stayed together when they dreamt. Even if they ignored each other while awake.

Zay turned out a lot like his mother, quiet and stoic, but he was a lot worse now than he used to be. This is because of an accident when he was young. For a while, Ash asked her twin children to stop muddling with the dream world, and instead simply live in it. Zay still saw so much to work with and wanted to experiment a little. So he and Ria went exploring anyway. They didn’t mean to cause trouble, but Zay messed with something he shouldn’t. Looking back on it later, he would see it was obvious that it looked like a yin yang. It messed with the twin’s personalities a bit, made Zay quieter and more cynical while Ria saw the world with bright eyes and could never shut up. He never told a soul.

It was when they were fourteen that he caught Ria doing something he didn’t approve of. She had let boys, boys who didn’t see the world as bright and shiny as she did, touch her. She had lost her virginity. He couldn’t help but be so agrivated with her, with the way she acted. Partially from guilt, knowing he had done something to make her act this way.

Kaleigh was born.

Zay had never yelled at her before, Ria took a few hesitant steps back, bright blue eyes wide because she couldn’t believe it. She wanted to run away. So Kaleigh was born of all her repressed sadness and anger. She snapped at him and threw things at him, cutting open his forehead with a plate. Xander saw this but kept quiet when it never happened again as far as he could see. She snapped back to herself after Zay passed out and didn’t seem to remember a thing and Xander didn’t want to stress out his daughter, so he kept it to himself. Zay remembered though, and he kept an eye on his sister.

They were stopped at a town. Ria left to flirt it up and check out the scene. A bunch of boys came after her at night, figuring they could jump the innocent little fifteen year old. She was pretty after all, even if she was unusual. Zay had followed her. And her brother got them to back off, seeing as they were too scared to risk the police, which was fortunate. He then yelled at Ria again, calling her an idiot for doing that. For flirting with boys who could hurt her. It was all out of worry, but he saw she didn’t realize that.

And it happened again. Kaleigh came out to play. Stronger this time, too strong for Ria to repress. And this time she had a name. Zay managed to calm her again, it wasn't easy but he did it, by being careful and saying things he knew would bring Ria back out, saying things he knew would suppress Ria's sadistic half.

But he still had to tell their parents that it had happened again. Worried and unsure what to do, Ash and Xander had asked around until they had heard of Black Springs, and sent Ria there for her own safety, though they figured eventually she could come home, BS doesnt much advertise that people can't leave. They also let Zay pretend to be insane as well, so that way he could go with Ria and keep an eye on her. It was always a good idea to make sure the twins were together, even if they fought all the time.

And now he’s here, pretending to be depressed so that way no one could take him away from his sister. They may not get along, but he knows she needs someone who doesn’t see the world as flowers and rainbows looking out for her.

PERSONALITY:

Zay is a cynic. He can't help it. Its just the way that he sees the world and he doesnt let anyone try to tell him different. He's a bit snarky, and he knows some girls find that charming...so it works. Usually Zay is quiet, he's quicker to think about what he wants to say before he speaks, unlike his sister.

He also has a habit looking on the darker side of things. He knows the world isnt such a light and fluffy place after all. He likes to analyze things before he speaks. He's always critical and shadowy. He's a traveler and a nomad and rarely, if ever, settles down. He only has now for his sister, but even still, he usually can't be found in any set spot.
