SPECIES ABILITIES

Eva is a half Death Angel, which means she’s a science experiment of course. She has no Scythe, limited control over her Robe. She also is immune to gold poisoning due to a certain quirk…her scythe is her nails, they are made of gold, and the bones of her arms are lightly encased in gold as well. Her nails can elongate to become blades. This gold though didn’t kill off her body, it attacked her emotions instead, making her incapable of feeling. Like all Halfs, she has an “expiration date” except hers is a certain word known only by the heads of the Council and Eva’s mother.

SYMPTOMS

Eva literally cannot feel. No emotions are actually ever felt by this Halfy, she simply can pull up a smile or an appropriate reaction because she’s learned over time what is the appropriate reaction to things that come up. She insults people frequently because she can’t feel shame, sympathy, guilt. She simply does it. And doesn’t care about the reaction. She also is quite mad, but it’s a quiet madness. One that is hardly noticeable except in the way she’s quick to grow her nails when her madness is triggered.

HISTORY:

Danica Drakos was the unwilling scientist for the Death Angel branch of the Council. Her sister had framed her for the death of their parents and Danica’s punishment was to use her vast knowledge for the Council’s sake. And when her son Daniel was 13, they demanded her work on creating a functioning half Death Angel at the hopes that the human added to those genes would cause them to not go mad. And she did it. Five boys were created, the fetuses were raised in test tubes until deemed functional and from there, a Death Angel Mother would host the child. After birth they would stay with Danica and she would watch them for signs of madness.

Danica was in love with a human however and had married him against the Council’s laws. She didn’t care, she loved him. And she wanted a child by him, even though she knew it was impossible. Disguising it as one of the halfs she had been ordered to make, she took genes from herself and Frank and grew the fetus inside herself. To punish her for this, she was ordered to inject gold into the fetus. It was the babies human blood that protected it from dying…and when Danica learned this, she helped by setting a barrier between the baby and the gold, allowing her to use the gold without dying. However, as all Halfs, she had a termination point, only hers was a word that would break the barriers Danica made.

Three months later, Eva was born. She never met the other halfs, because at that point the Council had taken them away from Danica to run tests on them, and see what they could do with them. Danica learned very early on that there was something off about Eva, and it took her until Eva’s third year to discover that Eva was emotionless. This upset her, but what could she do? There was always a flaw with the halfs, and Danica was simply happy that her daughter functioned and she hoped the girl was happy, even tho she couldn't feel that emotion.

At eight though, much younger than most Death Angels experience it, Eva went mad. She was outside when it happened. And the other halfs, who worked for a member of the Council named Sarai who had gone rogue secretly. Sarai was Eva's aunt, Danica's sister who had killed their parents and framed Danica for it. Either way, they tricked the young girl into going with them. And due to her emotionless state, Sarai figured that Eva would be a perfect assassin, and trained the little girl towards this goal. The Gold and the emotionless state seemed perfect, right?

Wrong. Eva was a stubborn brat. For a good fifty years however, still in her 8 year old physical state, Eva worked for Sarai and did her dirty work. She killed people and didn't even stop to ask their name because she didn't care. It didn't matter to her. Eva didn't feel after all. At 58 though, she ran from Sarai, not because she thought it was wrong...but because she was bored and missed her mother. She had learned they had lied to her about her not really being Danica's child when she snuck into the records to learn her own creation history.

So she ran, but being that she had made many enemies over the years, it was hard for Eva. On top of that, without Sarai's protection, there was the constant threat of her being killed by the Council. This was realized a good 10 years later when the Council caught her. They wanted to study the barrier that Danica had put into her however, so they kept her alive. It was painful, the experiments, but seeing as she never felt an emotion, they didn't know it. But she still felt pain. It hurt.

Until the boys found her, the other halfs. They had left Sarai's influence as well and busted her out. And for a long time they all just ran free. Until Blake set up Black Springs and the Council had an order put out for all the experimental halfs to be moved there.

Eva's been here ever since, always trying to break out. But when Vira took over, her opinion changed. She gets along surprisingly well with the mad girl, and even shifted her physical form to a 24 year old instead of an 8 year old so she could hang out with Vira. She has no intentions of leaving now, now that she has a friend.

PERSONALITY:

How can you describe the personality of one that literally cannot feel? Eva used to frequently keep the shape of her eight year old self and torture her barbies because she wanted to. She insults whoever gets close enough to be in hearing range and never smiles. She doesn’t get along with people, doesn’t like people, and sees no reason to. She frequently refers to herself as a science project or an experiment, whichever comes first. Now she will fluctuate between being eight and twenty four because she likes being the same age as Vira. Being around the nutty girl has a good effect on her, though she still doesn’t smile…she’s better with insults because she knows they don’t effect Vira so they stopped being fun. She’s good with mad people, she knows how to speak to them calmly…and quite seriously she always seems calm and unruffled so that’s nothing new.

Eva is tiny and pixie like. Its hard to pin down her height because of her fluctuating age habit. She does have bright golden eyes, pale pale skin, and black hair.

At twenty four, Eva’s black hair is cropped short and spiked with golden tips and her wings have golden tips as well, as well as her golden nails, that’s how she stands out. She has a habit of wearing loose clothes because she doesn’t care enough about them at all. She has no scars or tattoos or freckles.

At eight Eva looks pretty much the same except her hair is a wild and long and very very curly.
