MARIPOSA ABENDROTH
NAME: Mariposa Estelle Abendroth
NICKNAMES: Mari, Mars, Posy, Mon Petit Papillon, Ma Petite Étoile, Butterfly, Little Star (last four are used by her fathers, the two italicized are used by her french fathers)
AGE/BIRTHDAY: 12/ Dec 13
JOB: none
GENDER: Female
SPECIES: Elemental Witch (stone)
SEXUALITY: Assumed to be bisexual
MENTAL DISORDER: Psychotic Rage
RECOMMENDED BY: Mother, Fathers and "uncle"
INNATE ABILITIES: Speaks french fluently, understands and can speak a bit of german, spanish, latin, mexican, italian, romanian, and gaelic. Has excellent aim and skilled with a gun. Has an eye for fashion and style and seems to be strongly a feminist. She can dance rather well, as she was taught by professional dancers, but prefers not to.
SPECIES ABILITIES
Mari's elemental powers reside over rock, metal, stone, etc. She can easily bend it to her whims, though usually, all she ever uses it for is to form a doorway out of a flat surface and close them up behind her, or put up a wall between herself and the person she's mad at in the middle of a conversation as her way of ending the conversation. Because the has only used her elemental powers defensively or offensively only once, and the fact that she has never really practiced using her elemental power aside from getting around. The only time she ever uses her power for anything else would have to be when... well... When she sees the color blue.
When that happens, she tends to like making the ground split open and swallow up whatever it is that happened to be the color blue, however, from time to time in her state of rage, she's been known to do other things more creative, like crushing whoever it is she wishes to crush between walls of sharpened spikes.
If Mari were to ever break down into tears, she would shield herself from the world in a cocoon of sorts, to keep the outside world out. Where she would be safe within her own little sphere, however, she wouldn't be able to stay in the little sphere too long, because she would eventually run out of air.
PATIENT TYPE Volens, but only until she finally realizes that she's actually a patient here. She thinks her aunts are just babysitting her while her parents and "uncle" can't watch her.
MENTAL DISORDER: Psychotic Rage, slight sociopathic tendencies.
SYMPTOMS
Will go into a state of blinding rage where she will destroy and kill everything and anything that is blue, she will attack the blue thing as much as she possibly can until there is no blue thing anymore. The sky, water, anything at all will set her off. She will harm anyone that attempts to stop her or gets too close to her when in this state and will not stop until she no longer sees the blue, even if that means she must be blindfolded. She never remembers what she does when in this state, just as she can't remember that first kill or the events leading up to it.
TRIGGERS The color blue
FAMILY
FAMILIAR: Julianna, her fennec fox familiar
MOTHER: Anita Katerine Abendroth. Necromancer and attraction witch.

- The Blake sisters. Mari's grandfather (her mom's dad) was the elder brother of Sylvie Blake, making Mari the niece of all 4 Blake sisters.
HISTORY:
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, Mari most certainly understands this saying. Mari was raised by one mother and many fathers, one rather large vampire family and roughly 3 different werecat packs. Her majority of her fathers, as well as her mother, were all rather young when little Mari came around. All her life, Mari’s home was underneath a dark circus known as Circus of the Damned. Despite her mother’s highly dangerous job, Mari grew up in a very loving environment. She never realized it was strange and shameful, the fact that her mother was never married and there was more than one man Mari called father, despite the fact that one of her fathers was a junior high science teacher, Mari never attended normal school, but was instead homeschooled by the many vampires, death angels, witches and werecats that worked for one of her vampire fathers, Jean-Claude, who not only owned the circus they lived under, but JC-Corp. However, most of the businesses owned by JC-Corp happened to be particularly shady, many being up-scale strip-clubs, and dance clubs, as well as one or two BDSM clubs. The circus, a cafe known as The Lunatic Café, and a comedy club known as The Laughing Corpse were the only three child-friendly places owned by the company.
Her mother, Anita, was somewhat absent in Mari’s upbringing. Given her job calling her out of town on many occasions and away from home more often than not. Of course, Mari always had at least one of her fathers around to play with her and take care of her, however, Mari was a curious little one, she rather liked to run around and explore the vast halls of the underground mansion she called home, as well as venture above-ground to go play with the children wandering the circus with their parents above. Given her little witch-power happened to be for stone, it made it quite easy for her to form openings in the rock or brick walls for her to get through, then close back up behind her, which also made it quite easy for her to get by the bodyguards that wandered the halls of her home and the many businesses owned by her father Jean Claude as well as sneak away from whoever was watching her at the time.
When some of your fathers happen to be highly sexual, some working at a strip club, and one in particular happens to be fond of his dirty jokes and has great difficulty watching his mouth around a child, it happens to make a child very… aware of such kinds of thing at an early age. By 10, she was rather used to the innuendos and such, enough that if her nymphomaniac mother and fathers “accidently” forgot Mari was in the room, she could easily tune out what was going on around her and focus on whatever book she was reading at the time, entirely unbothered by such a thing. By this age, she was also highly educated in ancient history, languages, math, and science, on top of being an above-average dancer (taught by some of her fathers, being that some of them were professionally trained dancers) and knew much about a gun, from what her mother had taught her on their many visits to the shooting range.
Of all her uncles, Mari’s favorite was most definitely her “uncle Teddy”, or Tedward, as Mari called him. This however, came from the fact that Mari’s mother and fathers all knew him as Edward, and yet, his alias was Theodore “Ted” Forrester. When Mari was 10 years old, she was the flower-girl for his wedding, which was when she met who is now her best friend: Peter Parnell, who that day became Peter Parnell-Forrester. It didn’t take long for little Mars to notice Peter had an avid dislike for his new father, but Mari simply laughed at him for it, highly amused by the fact that she seemed to know more about “Ted” than Peter did.
Months later, Edward called her mother for purely business, as was per usual for uncle Tedward. Mari’s mother was going to visit uncle Tedward and aunt Donna… without her. Of course, this pissed off the little 10 year old, but she threw no fit about it. No, because that wasn’t Mari’s “way”. Instead, as soon as she got the chance, Mari took off to wander the city completely unsupervised and without telling any of her fathers or anyone else that was to watch her. Soon enough, they found her, but talking with her was a blue-haired boy, seemingly 3 years older. A thug of a 13 year old. His name was Cynric and Mari rather liked him, all things considered. With much begging, the stone-hearted 10 year old somehow managed to talk her fathers into allowing Mari to “hang out” with Cynric, somehow managing to convince them all that Cynric was a good person and entirely safe for her to be around. By the time her mother had returned, Cynric was already a frequent visitor to both the circus and below. To be perfectly honest, Mari liked him. She liked him a lot. He was little Mari’s first crush, and seeing that, her mother couldn’t help but cave in and agree to letting the boy stay around. Peter met him in time, but off the bat decided he didn’t like him. Peter had a protective streak over his best friend and his little sister after all, sadly, none foresaw Peter’s assumptions to be correct.
Roughly a year and a half later, Cynric’s true colors showed. They showed when he suddenly pulled a gun on Mari, using her as a hostage against her fathers and mother. It took long enough for the situation to sink in, but when it finally did, something in little Mari snapped. She was so angry, more angry than she had ever been, but then, she had never gotten truly mad before. With the stomp of her little foot, the ground split open under Cynric’s feet , causing him to fall into a rather large hole, but his grip on little Mari was a tight one. He pulled her down with him, so they were both in the small hole surrounded by solid rock together. Mari’s leg was twisted in the fall, as she also gained an arm fracture and several broken ribs, but you see, now they were completely surrounded by Mari’s element, not that they hadn’t been in the beginning. The earth swallowed Cynric’s gun, and then crushed him, flattening him into a pancake. And Mari was the one who did it. Of course, she soon passed out due to over-use of her power, but she had watched the rock crush the boy she had liked, watched him die, heard him scream and cry out as he was being slowly crushed. Watching someone die like that, and being the cause of it, that takes its toll on a child of 11 years old. As if she wasn’t a stone-cold one to begin with, she was even moreso now. However, like a bull to the color red, it wasn’t long before her family realized how very greatly she was affected. The sight of the color blue angered her and sent her into a state of psychotic rage, where she wasn’t very aware of her violent reactions to the sight of the color. The very sight of anything blue would send her into a state of destruction, where she wouldn’t stop trying to destroy the blue thing until she could no longer see the color blue. That included blue eyes as well sadly.
Her parents and the people who raised her, refusing to give her up to an asylum of any kind, tried their best to keep her underground, in their home where they could keep the color blue away from the child. The blue-eyed of them wearing sunglasses so Mari wouldn’t see their eye-color. However, more than once Mari tried her best to escape back up to the surface, avidly disliking having to be cooped up. It got to the point where not even Peter could keep her from wanting to get out into the world.
That’s when they finally accepted the fact that they couldn’t handle little Mari anymore. After some digging through her family tree, her mother found out about Black Springs and her cousins that ran it. Of course, Anita, Mari’s mother, had never actually met her cousins, but she did speak with one of her cousins over the phone. Telling Mari that the lot of them had to go somewhere business related, but that she couldn’t come with them, and that Mari was instead going to be staying with four of her aunts that happened to run an asylum, Mari was sent here. She’s slightly irked about it, but so far, she’s relatively okay with it all. Of course, her reaction may differ when she realizes she’s truly a patient here.
PERSONALITY:
Normally, Mari is of her element. Cold and calm, not bothered by almost everything. It takes a lot to rattle her cage. But then, to have put up with her mother, she had to have been decently calm to have explained things properly to her and get her to understand. In fact, before the incident happened, all her parents thought Mari didn't have her mother's rage and anger issues, though that was proven to be entirely false.
Mari seems prone to the more "classy" side of life, mostly due to the cocktail parties some of her fathers happened to love and her mother avidly despised. Though she's a coffee drinker like her mother, Mari still manages to be calm and cut-off a good most of the time.
Very polite and lady-like in how she walks, talks and dresses (much unlike her mother) Mari is very familiar with formalities and pleasantries, always seems polite, even when she's cussing you off or insulting you. But then, isn't that something to be expected when your raised by vampires over 600 years old? Mari will walk around in heels and a dress almost all the time, though she's always dressed darkly. One of the things she picked up from her mother was her constant dressing in the color black.
Mari hates plant-life, soil and wood. She much prefers to be surrounded by her element. When severed from it, there's a slight... edge to Mari, a slight grudging anger just slightly under the surface of her impenetrable calm. When she gets this blade-like edge to her, which also happens when she's pushing people away from her, whether angry at them or for some other reason, there becomes a slight edge to her voice and everything about her, like cold steal almost. Everything about her darkens to the point where some people tend to back off slightly. She's never actually snapped at anyone aside from her state of Psychotic Rage, but it wouldn't be a good idea to try and push her, most likely.
