Immie was insane. Lets face it, she knew she was insane. She’d have to be an idiot not to know it, and for all Immie’s insanity, she was not idiot. She was actually quite brilliant and devious if given the chance. She wasn’t often given the chance sadly, it usually was taken from her by the things that happened all around her, like the things that put her here, in this town, or the things that made her crazy, or…the stupid people in white coats who kept giving her shots that made her sleep. She didn’t like when people made her sleep, it made her so angry! She wanted to be awake, yes yes, she needed to be awake so she could figure out how to get free. That is why she often played nice, pretending she wasn’t thinking of ways to get free even while she was, see Immie was brilliant.
It was how she had ended up here.
Immie was very good at getting out. They had placed her in the Asylum, yes. This was mostly because Immie was out of her mind psychotic and also very sadistic, she had cut other patients until they had gotten her into the Asylum where she couldn’t hurt anyone. She also didn’t care about the bracelet around her wrist, she’d still leave this place and bandage her bleeding wrist later, take extra blood to make up for what she lost, deal with the loss of her hand as she went along…she had it all figured out. Such a perfect plan. But then she put her in the Asylum, the Blake girl Immie meant by she, she didn’t know names because she never bothered with them. It was pointless, they didn’t care enough to know hers, she didn’t care enough to know theirs. See how that worked?
Anyway, even the Asylum really wasn’t enough to hold her back. She still, even though it took a while, had figured out how to get loose. It had just taken her about a year to time it all out perfectly so that she could do it! But she had done it! Yes, yes, she had! She had been free! Those silly people who were supposed to be watching her had never seen it coming!
Sadly, she got caught on the way out. That was what she got for stopping for a “snack” and a bit of play time she supposed. The silly Wardens had found her, this was true, but they had had to catch her! It had taken a good half hour for them to chase the tiny girl down, because she was a tricky little thing. Her downfall was that she didn’t know the town well, being that she had spent all her time in this town in the Asylum, never allowed to see beyond the walls of that place…they had taken her free time from her because they didn’t trust her with it. Smart people really, she would have run happily away from here.
Sadly though, they had eventually caught up to her. She didn’t want them to, but that didn’t always mean much around here, did it? Either way, they had caught her. And she had expected to just get hauled back to the Asylum as always, given the shot to make her sleep, and be kept in her room for a while. That was what they usually did. But apparently this had been one time too many, because they didn’t do that this time. She wished they had done that, that way she could have plotted to get away! Instead she as out here enjoying the moonlit night.
They were just lucky she was over fifty. If they kept her out here that long it is.
Where was here? The giant annoyingly indestructible cage built specifically for vampires, that stood in the middle of the town, in front of the actual Cages. The Cages were jail, officially, but there was a literally cage, well four really, that stood outside the building itself. Where they’d display certain criminals who were really bad. Apparently Immie fit the criteria. She had settled herself to not caring much though, she could do that quite well.
In fact, she was bouncing around the cage instead, pacing it and trying to figure out what she was doing the moment she was let free. Because they couldn’t keep her in here, could they? No, no, they couldn’t. But perhaps it was this distraction that kept Immie from noticing that someone was approaching her cage…
