Okay so lovelies, This is where you will find all the information about all the things that go bump in the night here. If you have any questions please feel free to ask to admins. The Fae Now the following information is true of all Fae, no matter what species or whether they are Seelie or Unseelie- Time in the world of Faerie functions differently than time on Earth. One could stay in Faerie for a year and a day with the Fae and return back to Earth and find it the same day that they had left, or spend a day with the Fae and return home to Earth a month later. This time ripple fluctuates and is almost impossible to predict. Time can also run for months at a time at the same pace in Faerie on the same time as it does back on Earth.
- They are practically immortal, the only way to kill them is by outside means. Besides for this, they can live on to extremely old age.
- This means that its extremely rare for them to have children, its about one a year if that. (Not for lack of trying of course)
- Iron and salt are two ways to hurt or kill them. Now this does not mean that if you sprinkle salt on a Fae or give he or she an Iron pill they will die. It has to be much more than that and Iron will burn them regardless. If touched with cold iron, it will burn them as if it is on fire. Also, if a human stands in a salt circle, or lines their doors and windows with salt, a Fae cannot enter.
- The Fae cannot lie. They can however bend the truth to a certain to degree and some are better at it than others. They make an art out of making things that sound true but really are not.
- They love deals, but it is always dangerous to make a deal with a faery. Unless you are very careful about what the deal means, they will find a way to make sure it only benefits them.
- There are a lot of species when it comes to Fae. So many that we couldn't possibly name them all, but they come in many forms, Animals, elements etc. Feel free to ask Admins with help as to what species you want!
- Fae can glamor, meaning they can make themselves, or anything else for that matter, look different than it actually is. A lot of them do when walking out and about in the world of humans. Beware
- They can make themselves unseen by humans unless they have the Sight
- There are two courts, Seelie and Unseelie. These courts usually do not get along very well so there is a lot of fighting going on, this of course does not stop them from having..erm..fun with the enemy.
- Led by a monarch, usually a queen but there are exceptions.
- Because of their low child rate, they are seriously promiscuous and don't care who watch them go at it usually. This also means that relationships are not common among the Fae. They often have common lovers they will go back to over and over again, but when they part ways it is never something that is malicious. There are Fae couples from time to time, and they are capable of love, but it is rarer to see a couple than it is to see one Fae with multiple lovers.
- It is unwise to thank them because thanking implies they did you a favor, and they now have the right to ask you for a favor, any favor they like.
- They love to twist words and trick people, mostly because they cannot lie. They can usually twist the truth until it appears to be a lie. As long as it is true to them it is still considered true.
- Fae often sleep with human women and men for the sake of trying to create more of themselves, even if Half-Fae are usually not as powerful, or powerful enough to usually be recognized by the courts.
- Fae are extremely protective of their names. They usually go by a nick name or their first name instead of giving their true name.
- This is because there is extreme power in their names, if their full true name is used then whoever is using it has power over them and they have to do what ever they say. If someone other than the monarch of their court or someone they have given their name to in confidence uses their name, they tend to get very vengeful...so its best not to use a Fae's name unless you tend to keep using it to keep yourself alive.
- If you are a human it is not wise to eat or drink anything from them, just saying. Eating the food of the Fae makes you trapped, and it also makes all human food taste like sawdust.
- Fae are usually eerily beautiful. They also enchant by touch, if a human was to touch a Fae like this they would almost immediately become enthralled by them. You've been warned
- There is also something called a changeling, where a Fae replaces a human child with a Fae child having the Fae child grow up in the human world. This will be monitored. Changelings will be further explained below.
- This last one, is a sort of myth. Where if a Fae dies in one world they could come back in the other as a human. And vice versa. This would be very rare and express permission from an admin is needed to do so.
So that is all you need to know about the Fae. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask about anything. We don't bite.

The Half-Fae The Half-Fae are the children of a Faery and a human. The level of their power often varies depending on the Fae and the Human that birthed them. The most powerful Half Fae would be the child of a Sighted Human and a Royal Fae because they would inherit power from both of their parents, whereas the least powerful Fae would come from a Non-Sighted Human and a Lower Class Fae. This, of course, is just what should be. But when has magic ever been predictable? It can often be that Half-Fae will be unpredictable.
It is always true that the Half-Fae have less control over their magical abilities. The Human Blood within them limits their abilities of control. They could have plenty of magic, but no access to it because of their Human limitations to their magic. These are the Wild Cards.
Often, the more powerful of the Half-Fae have positions within the court and are able to function as any normal Full Fae member of court could function. However, there are certain Half-Fae who may not even know what they are and function easily in human society without any knowledge of the magic within them. Half-Fae often have siblings because once a Fae realizes that a certain Human can bear them children, they take advantage of it, and the level of magic even among these siblings could vary. One could be able to join the court, while the other wouldn't be powerful enough to work a glamor.

The Changelings Here is a bit of a complicated subject, the Changelings.
For reasons that range from complex to non-existant, it has been recorded through time that the Fae switch one of their children for a human child. It could be for a political reason, such as the parents of the human child aggravated them so they were left with a fae child that would possibly harm them accidently or would eventually return to the courts anyway. Sometimes they would be switched for no reason at all, other than a fun trick. Often the fae child would be a Half-Fae, who was of no use to the Courts or the Fae parent anyway, so it was no loss and they would gain a human child who would love them and possibly be an ideal servant. If the Fae baby was a full Fae, the Courts would eventually go back for it, thus gaining both childdren.
The term Changeling applies both for the Human child who would grow up around the Fae, and the Fae child who would grow up with the human family.
The Fae Changeling would be given a thick glamor by the monarch of the court he or she came from. They also would most likely not know what they were until they were told by a Fae, and probably just think themselves to be crazy...because they would be able to see the Fae, but not come from a Sighted family line. The only way to remove a Monarch's Glamor is to have it removed by the monarch, or to roll in a patch of four leaved clovers.
The Human Changeling would grow up in the Court, and it would depend on the court as to what their experience would be. Often they would be taken in by a certain fae, and loved as the Fae adore children because they are so rare with the Fae. Because of the way that time works in Faerie, they would probably appear to be about half the age they should have been had they grown up on Earth, and probabl wouldn't even realize that they weren't supposed to be in the Courts. It is often a Seelie Court thing to create these Changelings.

The Humans The human's are pretty self explanatory, they are your every day people just like you and me. For the most part, normal humans have no idea that the Fae exist, they cannot see them and when they do see them, they appear to be entirely normal. There are the random cases where humans accidentally stumble "underhill" as it is called, or are taken there by the Fae. Humans tend to be enchanted by them, because of their magic and their looks and often can be taken in by the glamors that they weave. Glamored From time to time, Fae to take humans as "pets." Certain Fae have the ability to use their magic to enchant humans further to make them slightly obsessed with them, though often humans only stay for a "year and a day" as the old lore goes, though the Fae don't always stick to the lore. Once they have eaten Fae food, they are pretty doomed...after eating the food of the fae, all others taste like sawdust.
These "pets" are called the Glamored who are enamoured of the Fae, either by their own design or by getting ensnared by their magical tricks. It depends on the Fae they work for whether they would be considered a pet or a servant, those who are pampered and loved, or those that work happily for the Fae The Sighted Humans Sighted Humans do not carry any of the delusions that regular humans have. They can see right through any glamor that the Fae can weave, and even when the Fae are trying to remain hidden from human eyes, the Sighted can see them. Sighted humans get the trait from one of their parents, and it travels through a family line. It is not something that just springs up some day, usually it goes back for generations. Sighted Humans are taught not to look directly at a Fae, because that would give away that they know the Fae are there and thus give away that they are sighted.
Sighted Humans often have rules, which mostly pertain to not looking at the Fae, not acknowledging the Fae, and not attracting the attention of the Fae.
All children are sighted until they reach the age of ten, this is because children still believe in Fairy Tales ^_^
