Here is a list of all the positions at Court, starting at the King and working all the way down to the Humans that populate it as servants and pets. Curious as to more details for each role? Feel free to PM to ask!
King/Queen
As stated in the Fae Information thread, both of the Courts are led by a monarch, usually a Queen but there have been notable Kings as well (Usually in the Unseelie Court, the Seelie is more traditional). The Monarch is in charge of everything about their court. They are like any ruling body, they must try to make sure their people are, if not happy, at least at the top of the pack. They answer questions and meet out justice if this is needed. Often the King or Queen overlooks all forms of justice and is who decides what type of justice must be met out. He/She is also in charge of organizing things like balls, parties, anything of the sort.
To become a Monarch, one must be named as such by the previous monarch, or must have killed the previous monarch. It is not possible to marry into the job. A person who marries the King or Queen (and marriage among the Fae is practically unheard of to start with) is considered the consort of the King or Queen, and does not have an equal power status.
Royalty
Fae Royalty consists of the Heir to the throne, Family of the King/Queen, and any Fae that is of High standing within the court. They are often addressed as Lady or Lord, and sometimes have other Fae that serve them. Fae Royalty are also decided by their power level. If a Fae is born with a very high power/magic level, they are elevated to Royalty status because Class standing among the Fae is decided by their level of ability and how strong they are.
Head Guard(s)
The head guard as a lot on his or her plate. It can be a male or female, the Fae aren't the type to judge on these factors. If they're the best at what they do, that's all that matters. Head Guards are chosen by the previous Head Guard--picked for having the best potential out of their fellow guards--and once they are chosen they are trained for the job.
The Head Guard is in charge of the entire squad of the Fae, as well as serving as the King or Queen's main line of defense, and are often seen by the side of the King or Queen. Some Courts (or rather their Monarch) chose to have two, but there are never more than two at a time. Often, they also chose a second in command which may later become the next Head Guard when they step down.
Head Guard's main duty is to protect the King or Queen. In order to help them do this, they have a special bond that connects them to the King or Queen that allows them to know where the King or Queen is at all times--unless the King or Queen blocks them off. Also, this allows the King or Queen to tug on that bond to summon the Head Guard to where they are.
Guard
Guards are those that protect the Court they are serving. They are like the Knights of the Medieval era. They mainly serve their King or Queen and protect them, but can be assigned to varying Royals depending on the Head Guard and what they decide. These guys are not always brawny, however, speed is also prized as a Guard trait. Much like the Head Guard, they also gain a special bond to whoever they are protecting, if they are assigned to a certain person that is.
Healer
The Healer, for there is always a head healer and then his/her assistants, is in charge of making sure his/her court remains healthy. The Fae are a resilient bunch, but they can also get themselves into rather dangerous situations. Often have healing magics.
Middle Class
The Middle Class consists of the middle ranking Fae. This is not judged by Money as it is in the Human world, but by power (as is the Royalty and lower class). The Middle Class often are those that simply live and have a good time. They often become Guards or Healers. The Middle Class often slip out into the Human world for their kicks, without asking for any form of permission. They do what they want to entertain themselves, though that counts for all Fae, doesn't it?
Cooks
Cooks are...well...cooks. They are in charge of the kitchens and have one heck of a job, they must make sure that the halls are always full of food, and make the lavish feasts found at all of the balls, as well as making food for people who ask them nice enough. They have a gift, and it is never a good idea to piss off the cook...you never know what might end up in your next meal if you do.
Kitchen Staff
The Kitchen Staff are the lower ranked Fae who work for the cooks and do the kitchen chores as well as bringing the food to the feasts and making sure that all the plates and goblets are always filled. If it has to do with food, they take care of it. They also take care of any chores the Cooks ask them to do.
Lower-Class
These poor guys often don't have it good. They are only seen as a little bit higher than humans in the eyes of the higher classed Fae. Fae Lower Class are the weaker of the Fae. They are often those that deliver messages, work in the kitchens, work as maids, work for the other Fae, are ladies in waiting or are helping out the guards in training to be one if they are younger. These guys have to watch out for themselves, or they may end up playthings for the higher Fae. They have the weaker magics, the ones that are more defensive than offensive, and often appear the least human-like.
Messengers
To put it simply, Messengers deliver messages. They are the fastest of the Fae, and are often Nymphs when they can manage to actually want to do work. Messengers also deliver messages across the Courts, so it is often a dangerous job because "don't shoot the messenger" doesn't always come into play with the Fae. This is why there are two reasons that messengers are fast. Because they need to be able to deliver the messages quickly, but also because they need to be able to escape.
ServantsServants come in both the Fae and the Human variaty. Where some Fae prize the humans they have lured away from Earth, some treat them as servants and play things. There are also those that are Fae, from the Lower Class usually. These guys are subject to the whims of those that are higher than them in the totem pole usually.
